200mg/20 ml vials will be restocked to units from supervisors. Please make sure you are checking concentrations with every daily check and every administration. This concentration should be used for IV pain management dosages. These will not be used as multi-dose vials. They will be available in pyxis for restock after use.
500mg/10 ml concentration will also now be available in pyxis for restock after use. If you have a vial that is CURRENTLY open, please continue to use it as a multi-dose vial until your next administration, or its expiration date. It will no longer be necessary to utilize new vials as multi-dose vials.
AVOID ERRORS AND IMPROPER ADMINISTRATION. THE STANDARD OF CARE WILL ALWAYS BE UTILIZING THE 5 RIGHTS OF ADMINISTRATION PRIOR TO ANY MEDICATIONS’ ADMINISTRATION.
