Reminder about Medication Pyxis

Good morning, ALS providers.
With an increase in the number of med pyxis discrepancies, I wanted to send a procedural reminder. (and if you ever forget, it is ALWAYS posted above the med pyxis for reference)
Simply, never use a patient’s name to remove meds from the pyxis. I know the fields are “last name, first name” which is just a hard thing to transition your brain at 02:00 after a busy day. Unfortunately, there is no way to rename those fields. Please remember to utilize:
Last name = your unit number First name = incident number
I have attached a photo of the procedures that hang in the ED above the pyxis for reference. If you have any questions, please let me know. And as always, if you have issues with the pyxis for any reason, please reach out to Katrina and/or me.
