Last year’s MIEMSS CQI measures ranked Washington County in less than 10% confirmation of intubations utilizing capnography.
We all know that to be incorrect, so we had to ask where they were getting their data. Turns out, it’s a field on a page most of us don’t use. Please see the attached picture of the exact place we need to be documenting airway confirmation via end tidal capnography. This will be under the provider action tab, under airway ALS tab. Here, you will need to click on Airway confirmation “ADD+” button and complete the drop down information.
While we work on making this field mandatory for all intubations within the emeds validation criteria, please utilize this on all field intubations.
