Good morning.
Passing along the recently reported shortage of 100 ml bags of normal saline from Meritus.
For your (rare) epi drips – please utilize what 100 ml bags of NS that you have first. IF you do not have an NS bag available, we have confirmed that you will be able to safely substitute 100 ml bag of D5W as a diluent. You’ll notice that is not listed in your protocol as an approved diluent, so you will need to report to me if should you have to administer. (email is fine). Please document your diluents on your emeds reports and choose the right administration route when using the IV pumps.
If you have any questions, please let me know! Meritus will communicate when the 100 ml of NS is no longer on shortage and I’ll pass that on to you when that happens.
